Personal statement

I have committed my life to serve and love every person I come in contact with, following the example of Christ. This I desire to realize every day by the way I live and also my occupation as a physician.

What is my background?

I am just an ordinary guy, born and raised in Europe. At the age of 16 I left home to pursue a high school degree at Fountainview Academy which would enable me to gain important knowledge, learn practical skills, further my musical skills and most importantly bring me closer to the person God wants me to be. Little did I know God would have more surprises for me. For four years after completing high school, I was blessed to be able to attend Weimar College. The year following my graduation I completed a masters in medical science. After 4 long years, I finished medical school at Loma Linda University and began my residency in Family Medicine and a fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine (also at LLU).

Why am I a physician?

I chose to become a physician is because I want to leave a positive mark on this world today, leaving it better than I found it. I also want to direct people to the loving and almighty Great Physician so they can enjoy an eternity with Him. My full story is in my medical school personal statement.  Here are two quotes that inspired me to pursue this career.

Christ is no longer in this world in person, but He has commissioned us to carry forward the medical missionary work that He began; and in this work we are to do our very best.

The Ministry of Healing, 143

Never has the world’s need for teaching and healing been greater than it is today. Medical missionaries and workers in the gospel ministry are to be bound together by indissoluble ties… By their combined efforts the world is to be prepared for the second advent of Christ.
